Water Resistant But Not Really... 😔

I bought this jacket mainly as a go to layer for rainy weather, but also when the sun is out and I need a layer to block the wind. And the first two days I wore it for work as a bike messenger while it was none stop rain showers it worked like a dream. I was virtually "dry" and my core didn't suffer the effects of being constantly wet like with my previous jackets. So basically I was also warm. But one thing I noticed on the sunnier days that when I got home for a run and/or a bike ride. My sweater was soaking wet. Like I could basically ring out water from the layer under the jacket. Even wjen wearing my best base layer. I'm not sure why this happens. Maybe that's how these jackets work, hard shell/soft shell, but with keeping the rain out from the environment, it also keeps the wet in from your body. Which disregards the whole point of a water resistant jacket. Another dislike I find was that the wrist of the jacket didn't cuff your wrist which allowed a lot of wind to enter via your arm. Sometimes on rainy wind days I had to put elastic there to disallow wind and rain in.
