The Nike Vaporfly Next% 4 is set to drop on April 24th, 2025, and we’ll be one of the first shops in Canada to carry it. Available this spring (and beyond!) at BlackToe Running, this long-anticipated update brings innovation, speed, and refinement to one of the fastest shoes on the planet. Whether you’re chasing a marathon PB, building toward a fall goal race, or simply want to train in the best gear available, the Vaporfly Next% 4 should be at the top of your list.
The Next% Legacy Continues
From the sub-2-hour marathon project to elite podiums across the globe, the Vaporfly series has changed the game. Each version has pushed the boundaries of carbon-plated racing technology, and the Next% 4 is no exception. While Nike hasn’t officially dropped every detail yet, the early buzz from athlete testers and industry insiders suggests some exciting changes.
Expect a more stable ride, improved energy return, and subtle but meaningful updates to both the upper and midsole. Most notably, the new ZoomX foam will be paired with an integrated Air Zoom unit—a first for the Vaporfly franchise—offering even more propulsion and comfort on race day. The carbon Flyplate remains, continuing to provide that snappy toe-off and signature pop runners love.
What’s New?
While the Vaporfly Next% 3 refined the geometry and weight distribution of the shoe, the upcoming Next% 4 is expected to take those improvements further with:
- Integrated Air Zoom unit (for the first time ever!) for even more propulsion.
- A slightly wider platform for enhanced stability at high speeds.
- Refined ZoomX foam with a new compound blend, designed to deliver more efficient energy return over long distances.
- A sleeker, more breathable upper, rumoured to be a blend of Atomknit and engineered mesh for better lockdown and airflow.
- Updated traction pattern on the outsole for improved grip in wet conditions.
