Saucony has been a major athletic shoe manufacturer in North America for over 100 years, delivering an award-winning lineup of comfortable, flexible and ultra-lightweight running shoes. Today, they continue to be one of Canada’s most popular running shoe brands - you’d be hard-pressed to find a runner who hasn’t worn a pair of Kinvaras at some point during the last decade! - and unlike many of their competitors who are involved in several different types of sports and athletics, Saucony has stayed true to their heritage by focusing research and innovation efforts specifically on running, walking and racing.
As a result of this focus, the revolutionary Saucony Endorphin Collection was born! Consisting of three different shoes - the Endorphin Pro, Endorphin Speed and Endorphin Shift - this collection is designed to provide the ideal amount of cushioning and tech to support you throughout all stages of your training program. Let’s take a look at how these shoes stack up!
The Endorphin Pro was designed to be your race-day companion. It features Saucony’s signature PWRRUN PB foam, which is incredibly lightweight (seriously, pick up a pair and feel the difference!), and provides a bouncy and responsive ride. The Pro also boasts Saucony's new SPEEDROLL technology and a rigid, full-length carbon fibre “S-curved” plate, giving you groundbreaking power transfer and propulsion. The impressive combination of Saucony's springy PWRRUN PB foam, full-length carbon-fibre plate and SPEEDROLL tech keeps you moving fast and feeling good on race day - and who doesn’t want that!
“Developed with 12 world class athletes who ran over 5,000 miles in 25 prototypes, the Endorphin Collection is a lineup of shoes that delivers a new feeling of fast for every kind of run. The result? Faster speeds. Better times. And more good runs for all.” -Saucony.com
The Endorphin Speed shares several characteristics with the Pro, such as the stable, lightweight and responsive PWRRUN PB foam, and Saucony’s effective SPEEDROLL technology, which uses sharp angles on the heel and toe to provide effortless forward momentum. The Speed, however, features a full-length nylon plate, which is more flexible than the carbon-fibre plate found in the Endorphin Pro. The result is a snappy ride that’s a little bit easier on the joints, making it perfect for regular speed workouts, tempo runs, and race-pace training efforts.
To round out the collection, Saucony created the Endorphin Shift. This shoe features maximum PWRRUN cushioning to power you through your longest efforts, and Saucony’s FORMFIT upper to provide support and stability. It also utilizes SPEEDROLL technology to make every kilometre feel a little bit easier, ensuring that you never have to sacrifice speed for comfort. We love the Endorphin Shift for recovery, easy and long runs - or anytime you feel like your feet need a hug and a soft place to land during your training!
