Worth the upgrade from the Forerunner 945
I've been with Garmin since the death of my Nike TomTom watch years ago. I started with the Forerunner 2-series and moved up to the 945 when the number of activities I wanted to track increased.
I made the jump up to the Forerunner 970 a couple of weeks ago and it's just...amazing. The amount of detailed feedback I'm receiving is excellent (without Garmin Connect+), and I feel like I've got a lot more insight into how my body is actually doing.
The flashlight is an excellent addition and one of those things you didn't think you needed until you start to use it.
At this price the watch should have shipped with the optional velcro strap, for those who can't get a good fit with the stock rubber strap. And Garmin Pay doesn't connect to the Royal Bank.
I don't know if it's worth the upgrade from the previous-gen, but coming from the 945, it's a big leap.
