Our BlackToe Running monthly coaching and training memberships are specifically designed to assist runners in their training and overall performance. These memberships provide personalized coaching, valuable training materials, and ongoing support to help you succeed on your running journey.

A minimum commitment of three months is required before cancellation. We believe this duration allows you sufficient time to fully benefit from our programs and make significant progress towards your running goals.

Looking to take your running to the next level, or need some accountability to stay consistent? Join our Wednesday night run club at BlackToe Running Ottawa!

We meet every Wednesday at 6:30 PM, year-round, for coached workouts designed to build strength, speed, and confidence. Whether you're training for an upcoming half or full marathon, keeping up your endurance and fitness, or looking to meet new training partners (or all of the above!), we are here to help you keep showing up and reach your goals.

Ottawa Run Club Details

  • Team Size Limit: We are limiting the Ottawa team to 50 runners to ensure personalized coaching attention and a tight-knit crew.
  • Who Should Join: You don’t need to be fast, but you should be training for a half or full marathon. This group is geared toward runners with training goals and a desire to build mileage and fitness together.
  • Founding Cohort Perk: Members of our founding Ottawa Run Club cohort will receive team singlets as a keepsake and symbol of this inaugural crew!
  • Training Timeline: We are currently loading base build plans, and in-person workouts will officially begin on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026.

What To Expect

  • Structured Training: Every workout is planned by our coaching team to support seasonal builds that align with local races and long-term endurance development.
  • All Paces Welcome: Whether you’re pushing for a performance goal or simply maintaining consistency, you’ll find a pace group that suits you.
  • Community Matters: Meet new training buddies, feel the motivation of running as part of a team, and build friendships along the way. Your team will become your biggest cheerleaders and supporters!

Weekly Team Workout Details

  • When: Every Wednesday at 6:30 PM
  • Where: We meet at BlackToe Running Ottawa (427 Richmond Road). Plan to arrive a few minutes early before we head out for our group warm-up.
  • How Long: Most sessions last 60–90 minutes

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend being able to comfortably run 8–10 km at a steady pace before joining, with 6 km as a minimum distance you can cover. While we have a range of pace groups, this will help you get the most out of the workouts, keep up with the flow of the group, and (most importantly) have fun. If you aren’t quite at this distance yet, take a look at our free, beginner-friendly 10-km training plans to help build up your mileage.

Our team supports a wide range of paces, from social cruisers to serious racers. If you're unsure where you fit, don't worry—we’ll help place you in the right group and with the right coach on day one, and you can always adjust as your fitness evolves.

Yes! We support a variety of race goals, including 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and marathon distances. Our coaches are knowledgeable and adaptable, and can help you move through different distances as your fitness progresses. Please see above that we recommend being able to comfortably cover 6 to 10 km as a starting point before joining the club.

Definitely. For runners looking for additional structure, accountability, or customization, we offer enhanced coaching that includes 1:1 feedback, goal-setting support, and access to additional resources. You’ll receive details after signing up.

We run all year long. Our programming is built around two main seasons:

  • Spring Build: Leading to races like the Ottawa Race Weekend in May, or the Boston Marathon/St. Lawrence Marathon.
  • Fall Build: Geared toward races like the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon or the Chicago Marathon
  • Base Build: Focusing on creating a solid base between the spring and fall builds to support your running journey

Memberships require a minimum three-month commitment, but we strongly recommend sticking around a lot longer to experience the full potential of running with our clubs. Drop-ins aren’t currently available for this club.
